I've heard stories about the mob's involvement in Las Vegas casinos in the past. Is the mob still present in Vegas casinos today?

According to Jonathan Josel, CEO of the Plaza Casino, and Oscar Goodman, a former attorney for reputed mobsters and ex-mayor of Las Vegas, there is no mob presence in Las Vegas casinos today. The industry is highly regulated and public, and the era of mob involvement in Vegas has long passed.

We stayed at the Plaza in April for our daughter's wedding.  My husband knows a lot of mob history because he worked for some at a laundry facility when he was a young boy along with his grandmother and aunt while we were checking in my husband started telling the Hotel Check-in Employee about who owned the Plaza and its long history and the employee was very excited to tell us about Jonathan and honestly as former employers we were excited to hear about his passion for his boss and workplace.
