There are two types of progressive jackpots: standard and 'must-hit-by'. Standard progressives offer equal chances of winning the jackpot on each spin, regardless of the jackpot size. 'Must-hit-by' progressives have a predetermined point between the starting value and the maximum value at which the jackpot will be awarded. This point is randomly chosen by the RNG and is unknown to players and casino staff. Both types of progressives are governed by randomness, but the 'must-hit-by' gives a sense of when the jackpot is more likely to hit as it approaches the maximum value.

There is one video that shows a woman winning over a million dollars on the slot and the casino refused to pay put, claiming the machine was faulty, they only offered her a free steak dinner in compensation. I know she took legal advice but I never followed up on how that turned out. But to offer her a free steak meal in an absolute insult. It just shows you the greed in that casino business. So I'd love to hear this experts view on that case. I'd like to ask him, can a slot machine  be faulty and mistakenly pay out a large sum ? I think not myself,  not by what he explains in this video. It's all about numbers and luck. I hope that woman took that casino to court...

I played an online slot machine the equivalent of $60 per spin.  I got a bonus game and the possible wins were a large multiplier of the stake starting from x10 stake or one of the progressive jackpots - $100, $1000, $10,000.  However someone had recently won one the smaller progressive jackpot and it had reset to the lower figure.  Even though the machine is supposed to be random I knew that I would win the lowest progressive jackpot as any other bonus win would be much higher due to the higher stake.  I started the bonus and the lowest progressive jackpot win came in.
